6th Annual Classic:  2013 Recap…

After dodging the rain the first 5 years the bottom finally fell out after 9 holes and cut our golf tournament short.  That said we still had an awesome turnout, great food, great fun, and an exciting putt-off in the grand ballroom!  Even with a shortened event, the CB Tournament raised and distributed $40k back into the community!  Organizations your donations supported were The Boys & Girls Club of Wake County, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friends of Guardian ad Litem, Neighbor to Neighbor, First Tee of the Triangle, Canes Youth Baseball, Millbrook Booster Club, and Wendell Sports Booster Club.  Thank you so much for supporting our mission to make a difference in the lives of youths in the triangle while remembering our inspiration, Chris Bunn. We are really looking forward to seeing you again on May 12, 2014.

5th Annual Classic:  2012 Recap…

We are so proud of the success of our 5th tournament and cannot thank our sponsors, players, volunteers and the North Ridge Country Club staff enough.  We were blessed to sellout again this year and The CB Tournament raised and distributed $63k back into the community!  Organizations your donations supported were The Boys & Girls Club of Wake County, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friends of Guardian ad Litem, Read & Feed, First Tee of the Triangle, Millbrook Booster Club, and Wendell Sports Booster Club.  We completed our five-year $200k goal to The Boys & Girls Club this year and soon after the 2012 tournament we witnessed the dedication of the new Boys & Girls Club in Zebulon – and the full length Chris Bunn Gymnasium complete with CB colors and logos (pictures in our photo gallery).  This is fantastic for the youth in Chris’ home town of Zebulon and we thank everyone who has been a part of this effort over the last 5 years!

4th Annual Classic: 2011 Recap…

Just like last year our tournament turned out great thanks to our amazing sponsors, golfers, silent auction donators, volunteers and North Ridge Country Club. Our golf tournament and silent auction party on May 2nd, 2011 was again a sellout and another than the inaugural year of our tournament, we raised the most amount of money for our Triangle charity partners coming in over $65k! As we have the past 3 years your contributions helped The Boys and Girls Club of Zebulon, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friends of Guardian ad Litem and more. We have almost reached our goal of giving $200k for the Zebulon Boys & Girls Club (ahead of schedule) and they have already broken ground on the Chris Bunn Gymnasium! Great work and thank you to all of our golf committee, and golf participants! Go ahead and set your calendars for our 5th Annual on Monday May 7th, 2012!

3rd Annual Classic: 2010 Recap…

2010 was another great year for the CB Foundation – Our golf tournament and silent auction party last May was again a sellout and we raised $60,300 that was given to local charities throughout the year. The Boys and Girls Club of Zebulon, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Friends of Guardian ad Litem were some of the main benefactors. With your support, the donations to Continuous Blessings enabled hundreds of children either attend a camp they couldn’t afford this past summer, learn from a program to build their self esteem and faith, supplied school supplies to children without enough money for paper and pencils, and supplied aid for local children who couldn’t afford athletic equipment for local recreation leagues. This is what Chris wanted and thank you to all our sponsors, players, and volunteers for a great tournament! Let’s do it again May 2, 2011!

2nd Annual Classic: 2009 Recap

We didn’t let the recession stop us in 2009! While we did see a slight drop in sponsorships, we still managed to sell out the tournament once again. It was another great tournament and an amazing year for The CBF. I am sure Chris would be proud of how this tournament has continued to thrive. Once again the monies from the tournament have been used to benefit The Boys & Girls Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Every successful tournament allows us to give back to the areas youth, so please come join us for next years event! Whether you are a golfer or not, we have something for everyone…live entertainment, huge silent auction and great BBQ dinner after the tournament at our Lawn Party.

1st Annual Classic: 2008 Recap…

What better way to honor Chris and kick off our first fundraiser than with a golf tournament? While Chris was famous for his accolades in football, baseball, and basketball, he loved golf most of all and as a single digit handicapper he excelled at this too. Once the date for the tournament was set, the tournament sold out in just a few weeks. We sold out 54 groups and had a waiting list before our marketing materials were completed! For those of you that played in this 1st Annual event, you know how successful and amazing 2008 was for us. For those of you that didn’t have a chance to play, we hope you join us next year!

With 216 golfers and 26 cash sponsors we couldn’t have asked for much more!
